Edit Steps and Questions

Steps are where users do the work. Open a step from its milestone to control what the user sees, what OBIE generates, and what information the step collects.

Choose the step type

Open General and choose the type that matches the job:

• Regular: users answer questions and OBIE generates a personalized response from your prompt.
• Fixed Guidance: OBIE generates the response from your prompt, but users can't edit it manually. They can regenerate it, copy it, or use Enhance with AI.
• Timeline: builds a multi-day experience with session types, questions, and prompts for the event.
• Option: asks OBIE to generate 2–10 options for the user to choose from.
• Deliverable: combines selected step outputs into a live document. It uses no AI, has no prompt or questions, and costs no tokens. Users can copy it or download it as a hub-branded PDF or Markdown file. A Deliverable can't include another Deliverable or be used as context for other steps.

The AI Hub Builder creates Regular, Fixed Guidance, Timeline, and Option steps. Add a Deliverable step manually when you want to assemble approved outputs into one document.

Edit the name and prompt

Step Title is what users see in the milestone's step list. If you've renamed Steps under Hub Settings → Customize, the field uses your custom label.

Prompt tells OBIE what this step should accomplish, how to guide the user, and what boundaries to follow. Make the expected output and tone clear.

Select Enhance My Prompt to improve an existing prompt, or Create My Prompt when the prompt is empty. You can add extra instructions and select up to five reference documents with Add from library or Upload. Uploaded files are added to your organization's document library. OBIE uses the selected documents once to draft the prompt; they aren't attached to the step afterward.

Add questions

Open Questions, then add or edit a question. Choose from:

• Short Answer
• Long Answer
• Choice
• Multiple Choice
• Content (Intermission)
• File Upload

A File Upload question accepts PDF, DOCX, TXT, or MD files up to 10 MB. It can't be marked as a Core Question.

Use Required Question when the user must answer before moving on. Use Core Question when the answer should become context for every later step. Those settings are independent for supported question types.

Control visibility

Open Visibility to choose when the step appears. You can use progress, answers, dates and times, time on the platform, tags, or active offers.

Preview and save

Use Preview as User to check the questions, layout, and response experience. Save your pending edits before relying on the preview as the published user experience.
